Marmoset Viewer
As part of the Hard Surface Modelling course i took part in with Vertex Schools, I decided to tackle the "Hydra Doc" concept piece by Dave Keenan. I'm pretty green when it comes to sculpting and any aspect of character art, so I opted to focus on the helmet alone as a more digestible piece for me to tackle.

I worked the sculpt around a male bust which meant I had to shift and change the proportions of certain aspects in relation to the face underneath. I hope I have captured the likeness of the original concept even with these changes!
This project also served as a learning opportunity to familiarise myself with Blender, Rizom UV, and Toolbag 5 for texturing, whereas my previous workflow was Maya and Substance Painter.
I textured this piece with with 4k texture sets. One for the bulk of the metal work, and one for Miscellaneous materials and smaller pieces to maintain a higher texel density. The glass for the lenses however, was a separate material in Marmoset for the purposes of rendering.
