This piece is the result of a 24 hour Mock Art Test I participated in with Vertex Schools. The brief for the test was to create a small scene based around the door, with at least one object in the scene being a Hero prop (in my case, the door itself).
All the rock and ground assets were taken from the Megascans Limestone Quarry collection along with the ground foliage, and the ivy foliage was taken from the following downloadable pack in the Unreal Marketplace: https://www.unrealengine.com/marketplace/en-US/product/realistic-ivy-foliage-and-vines-plants-pack-with-customization
I based my work on a Meridian Door concept piece for Horizon Zero Dawn and drew further inspiration from the game itself to design a night setting, lighting choices and FX (in particular, the fireflies)
